I was in Panther Trace yesterday previewing some homes that are for sale for some friends of mine. There are many wetland conservation areas and as I passed one of the wetlands, I spotted two adults and two chick Sandhill Cranes.
I pulled onto the side of Panther Trace Boulevard to capture a series of pictures as mom and dad Sandhill foraged for food. The parents worked together, not only making sure the chicks were fed, but leading them to choice spots to learn how to grub. More about the Sandhill Cranes further down.
Panther Trace is a planned community in Riverview, FL, just southeast of Tampa by about 40 minutes. It is a popular home for families throughout the Tampa Bay area because of the close proximity to Tampa, Brandon, Bradenton and Sarasota. It also happens to be a top choice for military stationed at MacDill Air Force Base.
